| 集成光学 integated optics 研究集成光路特性和制造技术以及与微电子学相结合的学科。把光源、各种光学元件、耦合器和检测器等做成薄膜形式并组合在同一衬底上的微型光学回路称为集成光路。光波波长比普通无线电波或微波的波长要短得多，故利用光波来传输或处理信息时具有更大的信息容量，但传统的光学系统有体积大、光束对准困难、性能不稳定和使用不便等种种缺点。集成光路把所有光学元件微型化和集成化，与集成电路一样，具有体积小、功耗低、性能稳定可靠、不受环境影响和使用方便等优点。集成光路中现已制成的光学元件包括薄膜微型激光器、薄膜透镜、棱镜、薄膜型光学波导、耦合器、光开关 、光学调制器 、滤波器 、光学双稳态器件、模-数转换器、存储器和检测器等。除纯粹集成光路外，现已出现和电子学元件的集成。此外，在光学波导中已观察到了诸如二次谐波 、混频和受激拉曼散射等非线性光学现象（见非线性光学），这必将大大扩展集成光路的功能。集成光学对光纤通信、自动控制、光学信息处理、光谱研究以及光学计算机的研究和应用等具有重要意义。 |
