Through theoretical spreading principle analysis,it is proved that the benefit of pseudo-orthogonal carrier interferometry(PO-CI) spreading code is not able to be supported when complex signal modulation(for example,quadrature phase-shift keying(QPSK) and quadrature amplitude modu-lation(QAM)) types are employed.

CI-OFDM and CI/MC-CDMA,which combine carrier interferometry with OFDM and multicarrier CDMA system,have become a new hotspot in the wideband wireless communication.

A novel scheme is proposed to dramatically reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)signals with a proper combination of carrier interferometry(CI)spreading codes and μ-law companding transform(CT).
