慧胜。本姓唐。彭城人也。父僧智寓建康。胜幼愿出家。以方正自立希于语言。言必能行身无轻躁。旬日不出户牖。见之者莫不敬异。以宋元嘉二十一年出家。时年十八。为净秀尼弟子。住禅林寺。具戒以后讲法华经。随集善寺绪尼学五行禅。后从草堂寺思隐灵根寺法颖。备修观行。奇相妙证独得怀抱。人见而问之。皆答云。罪无轻重一时发露。忏悔恳恻以昼系夜。贵贱崇敬供施不断。年八十一。梁天监四年卒。葬于白板山也。
