花岗岛在浙江省洞头县状元岙岛的南部,南距县城北岙镇4.5公里,即北纬27o52′49″,东经121o08′46″。岛屿面积0.31平方公里;岸线总长2.9公里;最高海拔96.8米。地势东部高、西部低,多为基石海岸,东面沿岸多礁石,东北部岸坡岩石陡峭,西南沿岸低缓有泥沙沉积带。花岗岛为村级岛,设花岗1个村,属元觉乡。
截至1992年底,有人口706人。
花岗岛有山地0.31平方公里。土壤分类有红壤10.83公顷(棕红泥土);粗骨土11.53公顷(棕石砂土)。其中有旱耕地面积44.15公顷;山上有马尾松
