【来源】
为杨柳科植物垂柳的花。植物形态详"柳枝"条。
【性味】
苦，寒。 ①《本经》:"味苦，寒。" ②《别录》:"无毒。" ③《滇南本草图说》:"味甘苦淡，平。"
【功用主治】
祛风，利湿，止血，散瘀。治风水，黄疸，咳血，吐血，便血，血淋，妇女经闭，齿痛。 ①《本经》:"主风水，黄疸，面热黑。" ②《滇南本草图说》:"治吐血，咯血，咳血，唾血，下血，血淋，一切血症。" ③《品汇精要》:"主齿痛。"
【用法与用量】
内服:捣汁，或研末，1～3钱。外用:研末或烧存性撒。
【选方】
①治室女发热经停:柳花五、七钱，紫草一两二钱，升麻九钱，归身七钱半。上为末。每服七钱，葡萄煎汤调下。(《赤水玄珠》) ②治走马牙疳:杨花烧存性，入麝香少许搽。(《小儿卫生总微论方》)
【名家论述】
《纲目》:"《本经》主治风水黄疸者，柳花也。《别录》主治恶疮，金疮，溃痈，逐脓血；《药性论》止血疗痹者，柳絮及实也。花乃嫩蕊，可捣汁服，子与絮连，难以分别，惟可贴疮、止血、裹痹之用，所谓子汁疗渴者，则连絮浸渍，研汁服之尔。又崔实《四民月令》，言三月采絮愈疾，则入药多用絮也。"
