性质：又称紫胶或洋干漆，抛力斯等，是一种天然树脂。虫胶树上的紫胶虫吸食和消化树汁后，在树枝上留下许多分泌物，将这些减结干燥后的分泌物，收集起来，经过加工制成的产品称为虫胶。粗制品呈紫红色。经精制后成黄色或棕色的虫胶片和白色的白虫胶。主要成分是光桐酸(9,10,16-三羟基软脂酸)的酯类。溶于乙醇和碱性溶液，微溶于酯类和烃类。虫胶的酒精溶液常用作木器底漆；虫胶还可以用于医药、造纸、绝缘材料、黏结剂、油漆、油墨和兵器弹药的绝缘防腐等。作为动物胶黏剂。主要用于金属及火柴头的胶接。
