| 魏格纳(1880～1930) Wegener，Alfred Lothar 德国气象学家，地球物理学家。大陆漂移学说的创建人。曾任马堡大学、奥地利格拉兹大学教授。1912年发表《关于地表巨型特征大陆与海洋的基于地球物理的新概念》论文。第一次提出大陆漂移的观点。1915年出版《海陆的起源》一书，其中以大西洋西岸、南美与西非海岸线大致吻合；现已远离的南方各大陆具有相同的二叠纪、三叠纪舌羊齿植物群和中龙动物群，欧洲和美洲有相同的石炭纪、二叠纪热带植物群；较轻的花岗岩质大陆壳不连续并漂移在较重的玄武岩质大洋壳上；格陵兰正从欧洲漂离等四大现象为依据，论证大陆漂移的假说的合理性。但由于证据不够充分，遭到当时大多数科学家的反对。50年代以后，海底扩张，古地磁学等的发现，使大陆漂移学说逐步得到论证，并发展为板块构造学说。还著有《地质时代中的气候》等。1930年第四次在格陵兰探险时遇难身亡。
