      伊朗铜石并用时代至早期铁器时代遗址。又名苏桑,希腊语称苏锡安,现名舒什。位于扎格罗斯山下,距迪兹富勒约20公里。遗址面积约2平方公里,由4个土丘组成。1897年开始,法国考古学者M.-A.迪约拉富瓦(1844~1920)、 J.de摩尔根(1857~1924)、R.吉尔斯芒等人发掘。
  
  约公元前第4千年前半期,苏萨出现了最早的居址,称为苏萨A。其陶器以杯、钵等器形为主,器表呈淡黄色,其上用黑褐色颜料绘出几何化的水鸟、羊、蛇等动物、人物及波形、三角形、十字形、圆形等几何形纹饰。这种陶器被命名为苏萨Ⅰ,同欧贝德文化有较深联系。接着而来的苏萨Ⅱ式陶器,时代当前第3千年中叶,其器形、纹饰同乌鲁克文化、杰姆代特奈斯尔文化均有联系。在这里还发现了亚麻布、石印章、 铜器等遗物。前第3千年末,苏萨是埃兰的首都,经常同美索不达米亚各国发生战争。前12世纪,埃兰人入侵巴比伦尼亚,把纳拉姆新战胜碑、汉穆拉比法典碑等珍贵文物劫运到苏萨。约前636年,亚述国王毁坏苏萨城。前5世纪,波斯兼并埃兰。波斯国王大流士一世以苏萨为国都,修筑城墙,建造王宫。王宫位于苏萨城的北面,宫墙表面装饰着上釉的砖,上面有狮子、卫兵、公牛等彩色浮雕,在几个庭院周围,建造许多房子,还有廊柱建筑,整个宫殿把美索不达米亚和伊朗的建筑风格融为一体。在王宫遗址中出土一块记载宫殿建筑的古波斯语铭文板。前331年,亚历山大大帝占领苏萨,苏萨处于希腊文化的影响之下。萨珊帝国时期,国王沙普尔二世以苏萨城是基督教中心而进行大规模破坏。此后,苏萨逐渐荒废。
