一号冰川
一号冰川是乌鲁木齐河的源头，位于市区西南125公里处的天格尔山中，海拔38600476米，长约2.2公里，平均宽500米，面积1.8平方公里，其周围分布着150多条大小不一的现代冰川。由于现代冰川类集中，冰川地貌和沉积物非常典型，古冰川遗迹保存完整清晰，所以一号冰川有“冰川活化石”之誉，成为我国观测研究现代冰川和古冰川遗迹的最佳地点。
