大荆镇第二中心小学创办于1994年,位于大荆镇北部的溪坦村,学校占地面积4708平方米,建筑面积2436平方米,有普通教室8个,电脑室、实验室，图书室各一个。
学校拥有一支富有朝气，敬业爱生，团结协作的教师队伍，专任教师学历均已达标。学校现有教职工２１人，其中专任教师１７人。职称中讲师６人，占35.3%，助教11人，占64.7%。学校现有学生311人，其中已毕业82人。
