冰碛石是指冻结在冰川中的石块，随着冰川的融化而沉积在一起的沉积物。他和其他沉积物的最大区别就是他的分选性差，大小混合，还有，磨圆度也很差，棱角分明。
冰碛石主要分布在曾经出现过大量冰川的地区，比如北欧，加拿大都是第四纪冰川的中心，这些地方不仅冰碛石很多，还有大量的冰渍湖。
