八关山位于小鱼山北面，中国海洋大学校园东侧，海拔68米。1924年，私立青岛大学成立，1929年停办，1930年在旧址上新建国立青岛大学，1932年改称国立山东大学，1946年抗战胜利后复校。20世纪20－30年代在这里曾留下沈从文、洪深、梁实秋等中国现代文学史上著名作家的足迹。八关山周围即是他们生活、工作、创作的地方。
