德育原则之一。教育者面对受教育者的集体进行教育，同时依靠并通过集体，教育其中的个别成员。社会主义教育要求培养出集体主义者，而集体主义和共产主义思想只有在集体的生活和交往中才能培养出来。这条原则是苏联教育家А.С.马卡连柯首先提出并坚持实行的。他主张的"平行教育影响"原则，就是要求教育者只和学生集体发生关系，由集体对个别人提出要求，从而有力地发挥学生集体的教育作用。
这条原则是群众路线在思想品德教育中的体现。集体是教育的对象，良好集体的形成是教育的结果；当良好的集体形成以后，它又成为教育的巨大力量，集体的正确政治方向、共同的奋斗目标、集体的舆论和优良的传统作风，对每个成员都会产生巨大的影响。依靠集体进行教育时，集体的成员感到自己不是单纯的被动的受教育者，也负有教育别人的责任，因而提高了他们自我教育的自觉性和积极性。马卡连柯说："不管用什么样的劝说，也做不到一个正确组织起来的、自豪的集体所能做到的一切。"
贯彻集体教育原则，要求教育者注意：①要培养坚强的集体，有目的、有计划地组织集体活动，提高集体的道德水准。②面向集体进行教育，将个别人的问题放到集体中去解决；通过处理个别人的问题，同时又使集体受到教育。
