| 朱橚（？～1425） 中国明代植物学家。生年不详，卒于明仁宗洪熙元年。明太祖朱元璋的第五子，封周王，谥定，故称周定王。领开封府（今豫东平原大部分地区），为历史上著名的黄泛区。据史载，仅明洪武八年（1375）至二十四年年间，黄河决口20余处，大多在他的领地内。如何利用野生可食植物资源成为当时救荒安民的主要途径之一。明成祖永乐元年（1403），朱橚便组织王府人力着手调查，得400余种，植于王府园中。俟其生长成熟，召画工摩绘为图，记以文字说明，至明成祖永乐四年成书，名为《救荒本草》。所记植物414种，除以往《本草》所记者外，新增276种。详载各种植物之形态、产地、生境、可食部位与制作方法。此书形态描述多突出植物之叶、茎、花、果实之特征，植物形态图描绘之精确远胜于前代《本草》，为中外学者所赞誉。对含毒植物在“救饥”条专述其食用法。 |
