1924年 9月杭州西湖雷峰塔圮，砖孔中出此经。文多剥落残缺，完整可诵者甚稀。首镌“天下兵马大元帅吴越国王钱
造此经八万四千卷，舍入西关砖塔，永充供养，乙亥八月日纪”三行。 次镌佛说法图。 又次镌《陀罗尼经》全文。经卷高约 7厘米，上下单边，全卷总计 274行，每行10字。乙亥为宋太祖开宝八年 (975)，吴越王钱在位之29年，世亦称五代刻本。钱，字文德，杭州临安人，吴越王钱
之孙，为吴越末代王，宋太宗太平兴国三年 (978)降宋，此经署年乙亥，可知钱并未建元，不署开宝八年，时尚未纳土降宋(见图[]
)。吴越钱氏刊《宝箧印陀罗尼经》,据传有丙辰(956)、乙丑(965)、乙亥(975)三种刻本，乙亥本流传最广，北京图书馆等单位有收藏。丙辰本最罕见，据闻1957年瑞典国王购得丙辰本一卷，现藏其皇家图书馆。
