中国最早收藏与宣传马克思主义书刊的专门图书馆。1921年10月李大钊等创办于北京大学三院。"康敏尼特"是英文Communist (共产主义)的译音，又称"亢慕义斋"图书馆。因是马克思学说研究会的附属机构，故也称马克思学说研究会图书馆。主要搜集马克思学说的德、英、法、日、中等文种图书，购书经费由会员捐款筹集。他们通过各种渠道，向国内外收集马克思主义书刊。据当时《北京大学月刊》记载，至1922年2月6日，收集有关中文书籍20余种,英文书籍40余种;4月,增添英文书籍70余种，期刊10余种；至12月，已收藏有各种文种的马克思主义书籍数百部。该馆甚至还收集到共产国际的一些出版物，如汉堡共产国际出版社、莱比锡共产国际西欧书记处等出版的德文版书籍。
该馆以宣传马克思主义、为中国革命斗争服务为己任，规模虽小却很重视读者工作，办理外借并开展室内阅览。除为会员服务之外，还向校外或外地的非会员出借图书资料。
