硕士生导师。1946年6月出生，江西南城人。1970年毕业于南京航空学院电机及电器专业，历任南昌航院基础课部副主任、人事处长、副院长，1998年始任院长，2003年５月任党委书记。主持党政全面工作。1995年随团出访德国、法国，考察和调研国外高教管理情况。主要社会兼职有：江西省力学学会副理事长、江西省航空学会副理事长、中国航空学会理事。
刘高航教授长期从事高等教育研究和管理工作，重视学院制度的建设，积极推动学院的改革与发展，倡导教育管理的制度化、规范化和科学化。先后组织学院顺利通过航空工业总公司、教育部对南昌航院本科教育合格评价，主持省、部级课题12项，目前正主持研究国家级、省级、学院课题4项，先后在有关刊物上发表论文近20篇。
