The virus borne small brown planthopper, which could be supplied to healthy plants for virus inoculation,should be reared on the virus-infected plant from the low instar for more than 3 days and then after more than 15 days for virus incubation and multiplication.

The observations of the virus ginseng plants in the field mainly showed three types yellow dwarf types,rosette dwarf types,and leaf roll types.
