苦竹岭位于崇阳县路口镇田心村山背芦西北3.4公里处。主峰海拔300.0米，东连葫芦顶，西接杨叶山，西南接石门楼，为咸安、崇阳之界山。境内平面积约3平方公里。上有杉、松、竹人工林。崇阳出口公路最重要工程“翠竹岭隧道”即从此岭穿过。
