l旧qu eaoye林区草业(Pastor一forestry)林区以林草结合为基础的草产业。它是林区利用土地资源，发展多种经济，促进生态环境优化的一项战略性产业。 国外利用林间草地发展畜牧业有悠久的历史。美国有1/3的家畜在林区放牧，制定有林间放牧的法律条文。加拿大、新西兰、日本和前苏联等国，林间放牧已成为一项独立的产业和专门学科。 中国利用林间草地放牧早有传统习惯，在新疆、内蒙古、甘肃、四川等牧区，一直保留着夏季高山林区草原游牧的方式。由于处于自然利用状态，没有科学的管理和建设措施，因而形成林牧矛盾，不能发挥林草结合的资源优势和经济潜力。80年代以后，随着草业的发展，林区种草和林牧结合的成功范例在各地不断涌现，钱学森在1984年提出建立中国草业的同时，也提出发展林区草业的主张。 林区草业的特点和优越性是:①在林间草地种植豆科牧草，可固氮改土增加林区土壤肥力，加快林木生长，增加林业产值;②通过林区种草放牧，发展畜牧业，既可增加牧业收人，又一有旨增加家畜厩肥改良土壤，促进林业发展;③发挥林草结合功能，防风固沙，保持水土，促进城乡绿化，治理生态环境;④发展林草为基础，林、牧、果、蜂、工、商结合的综合性草业经济，达到长短结合，繁荣经济。(李毓堂)
