为壳斗科植物桂林拷的种子。
【植物形态】
桂林栲，又名：山锥、锥子树、勒翠。 常绿乔木，高可达20米。树皮暗灰色，老时不规则开裂；小枝有椭圆形成孔。叶革质；长圆状披针形，长7～12厘米，宽2.5～4厘米，先端渐尖，基部常圆形，稍斜，上半部边缘有疏而利的锯齿，侧脉约10对；叶柄长1～2厘米。花细小，单性，同株；雄花绿白色，排成直立、分枝的穗状花序簇生于小枝顶部；雌花每朵藏于一总苞内，排成一短的穗状花序；总苞径约2.5厘米，外面密生鹿角状锐刺，成熟时开裂，内有坚果一个。坚果近卵形，长约12毫米，黄褐色。花期夏季。 生于山坡及山谷，常与他树混生。除云南及四川西部外，广布长江以南各地。 本植物的果壳(锥栗果壳)亦供药用，另详专条。
