食蚜蝇科昆虫的1种。分布于甘肃、河北、河南、江苏、浙江、福建、云南;日本、印度东部、马来西亚、亚洲北部、小亚细亚、欧洲、北非。幼虫捕食棉蚜、豆蚜、桃蚜等。体长9～10毫米。眼裸。腹部黄斑3对。头部除头顶区和颜正中棕黑色外，大部均棕黄色，额与头顶被黑短毛，颜被黄毛触角第3节棕褐到黑褐色,仅基部下缘色略淡。小盾片棕黄色,毛同色,有时混以少数黑毛。足大部棕黄色。腹部两侧具边，底色黑，第2～4背板各具大形黄斑1对；雄性第3、4背板黄斑中间常相连接，第4、5背板后缘黄色，第5背板大部黄色，露尾节大，亮黑色。雌性第3、4背板黄斑完全分开,第5背板大部黑色。腹背毛与底色一致。
