Rearing of Syrphus corollae Fabricius, an important predator of aphids in peach, rapeseed and vegetables fields in Yunnan province, was carried out at room temperature using four different species of aphids\|Brevicoryne brassicae, Acyrthosiphon pisum, Myzus persicae (from peach) and Macorsiphum sp.

食蚜蝇科昆虫的1种。分布于甘肃、河北、河南、江苏、浙江、福建、云南;日本、印度东部、马来西亚、亚洲北部、小亚细亚、欧洲、北非。幼虫捕食棉蚜、豆蚜、桃蚜等。体长9～10毫米。眼裸。腹部黄斑3对。头部除头顶区和颜正中棕黑色外，大部均棕黄色，额与头顶被黑短毛，颜被黄毛触角第3节棕褐到黑褐色,仅基部下缘色略淡。小盾片棕黄色,毛同色,有时混以少数黑毛。足大部棕黄色。腹部两侧具边，底色黑，第2～4背板各具大形黄斑1对；雄性第3、4背板黄斑中间常相连接，第4、5背板后缘黄色，第5背板大部黄色，露尾节大，亮黑色。雌性第3、4背板黄斑完全分开,第5背板大部黑色。腹背毛与底色一致。
