【来源】
为罂粟科植物节裂角茴香的全草。
【植物形态】
节裂角茴香 一年生草木，高30～60厘米，有白粉。根直，圆柱形。基生叶多数，长6～20厘米，具稍长柄；叶片轮廓矩圆形，2回羽状全裂；1回裂片3～6对，具短柄或无柄，轮廓卵形；2回羽状细裂，小裂片披针形或狭倒卵形，宽0.3～1.6毫米。花茎3～7条；花序具少数或多数分枝；萼片2，狭卵形；花瓣4，淡紫色或白色，外面2个较大，宽倒卵形，全缘，内面2个较小，3裂，中央裂片船形；雄蕊4，与花瓣对生，基部有腺体；子房1室。蒴果条形，成熟时在每2种子之间分裂而成10数小节。 生于沙质土壤草地上。分布西藏、四川、甘肃，青海、陕西、河北等地。

6～8月采收，洗净，切断，晒干。
【化学成分】
干全草含生物碱约0.38%，其中分离出原阿片碱85%，血根碱0.1%，白屈菜红碱及黄连碱痕迹量，无定形非酚型碱7.8%，无定形酚型碱2.7%。

《西藏常用中草药》:"性寒，味苦。"
【功用主治】
①《西藏常用中草药》:"解热镇痛，消炎解毒。治伤风感冒，头痛，四肢关节疼痛，胆囊炎，并解食物中毒。" ②《陕甘宁青中草药选》:"治流感，咽喉肿痛，目赤。"
【用法与用量】
内服:煎汤，1～2钱；或研末。
【选方】
①治风热感冒、咽炎:角茴香三钱，连翘四钱，牛蒡子三钱，薄荷钱半，甘草钱半，水煎服。(《青海常用中草药手册》) ②治急性结膜炎:角茴香三钱，菊花三钱，水煎服或泡茶喝。(《青海常用中草药手册》)
