在盈江县铜壁关老刀弄寨旁有一棵大椿树,其树身奇大无比,数十人也合抱不下。其主干上布满了块状根系,如山脉、峡谷,千沟万壑;树杆上抛撒出一束束气根,如一条条巨蟒把头深深地扎进泥土之中,像是要把地上的水分全部吸干一样。整棵树枝连枝、根连根,构成一个整体,给人"独树成林"的奇观,是云南一绝,被人们称作"椿树王"。被国家列为旅游风景名胜区。据专家测算和考证,这棵树树冠覆盖面积达5.5亩,气根入土后长成的新树干达108根,这是云南省最大的一棵树,到现在已有近300年的树龄。旅游者到此观看,无不称奇。由柳洪平创建。
