【植物形态】
鸡麻 落叶灌木，高2～3米。茎直立，光滑，散生皮孔；小枝开展，无毛。叶对生，卵形至卵状矩圆形，长4～9厘米，宽2～6厘米，先端渐尖，基部宽楔形、圆形或截形，上面初有毛，后脱落，下面有黄白色绒毛，边缘有重锯齿；叶柄长3～5毫米，和花梗均有黄白色绒毛；托叶条形。花单生新枝顶端，径3～4厘米；萼筒短，裂片4，卵形，有锯齿，宿存，和4副萼互生；花瓣4，近圆形，白色；雄蕊多数；心皮4，子房上位。核果4，亮黑色，倒卵形，长7～8毫米，无毛。花期4～5月。果期7月。 生于山坡疏林下及山谷沟边。分布辽宁、山东、河南、陕西、甘肃、安徽、江苏、浙江、湖北等地。
【功用主治】
治血虚肾亏：鸡麻果实蒸五分钟，取出，用七至八钱，水煎，冲黄酒、红糖，早晚空腹服；或用根一两，切片，水煎取汁，冲糖、酒，早晚空腹服。
