The threshold velocity for transportation of sand, roughness, windblown sediment, wind-sand flow structure, soil mechanic composition and wind erosion amount were studied in 4 different land-use types (field land, forest land, wild grass land, flood land) in the Yongding River sand land in Beijing.

Not until in 1698 had a special organization been set up to harness the river,and the event also promoted the subsequent compiling of two records of the river,the Records of the Yong-ding River and the Continuous Records of the Yong-ding River,which is a good example of the interaction between social changes and historiography.
