【来源】
为樟科植物大叶楠的根。
【植物形态】
大叶楠，又名：豪樟、竹叶槁；落叶桢楠。 常绿小乔木，通常高达8米。小枝暗棕褐色，无毛。叶互生，倒卵状椭圆形，长12～24厘米，宽3.5～7厘米，先端渐尖，基部楔形，全缘，近革质，上面深绿色，无毛，下面苍白色，初被银白色绢毛，后渐脱落，侧脉14～20对；叶柄长1～3厘米，上面有浅沟槽。圆锥花序生于新枝叶腋；花两性，花梗长5～7毫米；花被6深裂，裂片长椭圆形，长约6毫米；雄蕊9，花药4，室；雌蕊1，花柱细长。浆果球形，径约1厘米，具宿存花被，外面密被细绢毛。花期4～5月。果期6～9月。 生于山坡、山谷、溪沟边杂木林中。分布浙江、福建、广东、湖南、湖北等地。
【化学成分】
树皮可提树脂，种子可榨油。湖南产本品含树脂20.41%，橡胶0.238%(按干样品计算)。叶含挥发油。
【功用主治】
《浙江天目山药植志》："治掌心生疮。大叶楠根，用米饭汤和盐卤唐成浆糊状，敷患处。"
