性质:不能进行或不能独立进行光合作用,制造养分必须寄生在其他植物上吸收寄主的养分而生活的杂草。根据寄生的特点,寄生杂草可分为全寄生杂草与半寄生杂草。从寄生于寄主部位不同分为根寄生与茎寄生。全寄生杂草地上部器官无叶绿素,不能进行光合作用,列当(Orobanche cumana)为根寄生的典型代表,它寄生于向日葵等寄主根部吸收养分;菟丝子(Cuscuta chineusis Lam.)为茎寄生,靠它的吸器从大豆等寄主茎内吸收养分;百蕊草(Thesium chinensis Tuxcz.)为半寄生杂草,具有根和吸器,有寄生和自生两种生活方式,当没有寄主存在时能独立生活。
