学名：Salix leucopithecia
别名：银芽柳、棉花柳
科属：杨柳科、柳属 原产我国，分布很广。
落叶灌木。基部抽枝，新枝有绒毛。叶互生，披针形，边缘有细锯齿，背面有毛。雌雄异株。花芽肥大，每芽有一个紫红色的苞片，冬季先花后叶。柔荑花序，苞片脱落后，即露出银白色的花芽，形似毛笔。花期12月至翌年2月。 喜潮湿、阳光，耐肥、耐涝。在水边生长良好。
用扦插繁殖。可于春季剪取枝条，进行扦插，生根后定植于大田。管理粗放。要注意施肥，特别在冬季花芽开始肥大和剪取花枝后要施肥。夏季要及时灌溉。 银柳是一种观芽植物，宜用作切花，多在春节前后与一品红、水仙等配伍。
