乌贼 Sepiidae;cuttle fish 软体动物门头足纲乌贼科的通称。又称墨斗鱼。头部两侧的眼径甚大 ,头前和口周有腕5对,4对较短,腕上具4行吸盘;左侧第4腕茎化;另1对很长,称触腕或攫腕,有穗状柄,其上的吸盘约4~20行 。胴部盾形,狭窄的肉鳍几乎包被胴部全缘,仅在后端分离。内壳厚,包埋于外套膜内,石灰质,椭圆形,通称乌贼骨或海螵蛸。墨囊发达,善于放墨逃遁。仅分布于东半球的热带和温带浅海 ,约有100种。捕食虾蛄和幼鱼等。曼氏无针乌贼干制品称螟蜅鲞或南鲞,为海味佳品。金乌贼干制品称墨鱼干、乌鱼干或北鲞,是海味市场的重要品种。
