| 祖先崇拜 ancestor worship 以祖先亡灵为崇拜对象的宗教形式。在母系氏族社会向父系氏族社会的发展过程中，由图腾崇拜过渡而来。即在亲缘意识中萌生、衍化出对本族始祖先人的敬拜思想。最初始于原始人对同族死者的某种追思和怀念。氏族社会的演进确立了父权制，原始家庭制度趋于明朗、稳定和完善，人们逐渐有了其父亲家长或氏族中前辈长者的灵魂可以庇佑本族成员、赐福儿孙后代的观念，并开始祭拜、祈求其祖宗亡灵的宗教活动，从此才形成严格意义上的祖先崇拜。其崇拜行为的特点，首先是将本族的祖先神化并对之祭拜，具有本族认同性和异族排斥性；其次是相信其祖先神灵具有神奇超凡的威力，会庇佑后代族人并与之沟通互感；最后超越了原始图腾崇拜和生殖崇拜的认识局限，不再用动植物等图腾象征或生殖象征来作为其氏族部落的标志，而以其氏族祖先的名字取代，由此使古代宗教从自然崇拜上升为人文崇拜。祖先崇拜在中国封建社会的宗教传统中尤为突出。 |
