| 麦蛾 Gelechiidae； gelechiid moths 鳞翅目麦蛾科的通称。小型蛾类。是小蛾类中的一个大科。全世界约 4000种。色泽鲜明或不鲜明，有的白昼活动、有的夜晚活动。幼虫圆筒形，淡白或带红色，无毛，腹足有时消失。幼虫钻蛀茎、果实和根以及卷叶、缀叶、形成虫瘿等，也有极少数潜叶或带鞘为害。其中麦蛾是世界性的仓库害虫；红铃虫是有名的棉铃和棉籽大害虫；马铃薯块茎蛾的幼虫潜入烟叶和马铃薯块茎，也为害番茄等茄科植物。后二者都是国际植物检疫对象。花生麦蛾的幼虫为害花生、黄豆、绿豆等，分布在华北、华南地区；黑星麦蛾分布在东北、华北和华东 ，桃条麦蛾分布在华北和西北 ，都是桃、杏、李、苹果等果树的重要害虫。小杨麦蛾 ( 见上图)在东北、西北和内蒙古为害杨树、柳树、槭树等，是林业的大害。其他麦蛾种类中国已知的尚有20余种。
