Barriers and countermeasures to them in vegetation rehabilitation in hilly and gully regions of the Loess Plateau located in North Shaanxi——A case study of Zichang County;

Nature conditions are scurviness in hilly and gully region on northwest loess plateau, which is one of the most serious region in our country.

WT5,5”BZ]According to detailed data that are gained by 7-year tests of the different cultivation of the slope land in the loess hilly and gully region of the north of Shaanxi province, water use of the different cultivation, water balance, outputs and comprehensive efficiency of soil and water conservation are discussed.

Consideration on the development of ecological grass and livestock industry in loess hilly region of Northern Shaanxi;

Discussion on rational utilization of returned farmland in loess hilly regions of North Shaanxi;

Returning farmland to forests or grassland in North Shaanxi loess hilly region sloping farmland plays an important ecological role in natural recourse use,water and soil conservation,agricultural sustainable development,forestry and grass land construction,ecological situation improve and regional economy development.

The effects of different grazing intensity and different species of livestock on physical and chemical properties of surface(0~10 cm) soil of grazing grassland and Caragana korshinkii forest floor were studied at hilly and gully regions on the Loess Plateau-Pianguan,Shanxi Province.

Development of economic forest and fruit tree in loess hilly and gully region should do good constructive planning,strengthen catchment,save irrigation water and preserve moisture in slope orchard,propagate science and technology,found its market,then vegetation building and economic development should be done best.

With the great development of west China, and no-rational utilization of water resources, arid and semiarid areas had appeared water use contradictory protruding, especially in hilly and gully area of Loess Plateau, and have resulted in obvious ecological degradation and environmental problems.
