有关当代电光源理论和技术的专著。英国W.埃伦巴斯著。1972年在伦敦初版。后由方道腴、张泽琏译成中文，并于1981年由轻工业出版社出版。作者在光源领域工作多年，最后10年任飞利浦公司照明开发部主任，退休后著述此书。书中重点介绍了电光源的基础理论，如钨在真空中的蒸发速率，由空间电荷限制的电流对阳极电位的依赖关系，以及给定低气压放电空间电位时如何用探针法获得电子温度和电子浓度的资料等。《光源》还集中讨论了白炽灯、低气压放电灯（荧光灯、低压钠灯）和高强度气体放电灯（汞灯、高压钠灯、氙灯等）等实际使用的电光源。
