全国人像摄影艺术展是国内级别最高、最具权威性的专业摄影展。全国人像摄影艺术展览始于1961年，每三年举办一次，是中国摄影界的三大影展之一，也是展现我国人像摄影艺术发展成果的重要舞台。
第十届中国人像摄影艺术展览，共分为婚纱、儿童、艺术人像、电脑创意人像、纪实人像、广告人像、人体摄影……7个大类。作为新世纪的第一次人像摄影大展，此次影展的参赛作品，无论是在摄影题材、还是摄影技术上，都有明显进步，艺术人像在选材和角度上都有令人耳目一新之感，而人体摄影作品的水平之高更是出乎评委们的意料。由于数码技术的广泛运用，电脑创意人像也成为展览中一个引人注目的门类。
第10届中国人像摄影艺术展览是人像摄影在新世纪的首次展览，各项准备工作做得精心细致，在比赛规格、评委组成、展览方式和运作形式……方面都做出了引人注目的改革和创新。只要坚持正确的办展思想，把握商业和艺术的有机结合，紧密依靠广大摄影工作者和爱好者，全国人像摄影艺术展览一定会越办越好。中国摄影家协会也会一如既往地支持和配合中国人像摄影学会的各项活动，为繁荣文化艺术、促进经济发展，为推动中国人像摄影事业的健康持续发展做出贡献。
