Aimed at obtaining the melting behaviour of particulate ice in a column ice tank, performs experiments in mode of variable ice amount in melting, investigating the total melting time, the remaining ice amount and the convective heat transfer coefficient between ice and water, and finds that the temperature of outflow water rises quickly after the remained ice decreases to the point of 20%.
