巴拿马共和国首都。位于巴拿马运河太平洋岸入口附近的岩性半岛上。临海靠山，风景优美。人口43.9万（1987）。原为印第安人渔村，1519年建城。中美洲巴拿马的海湾。位于巴拿马中央地峡以南，阿苏埃罗半岛以东。东、西最宽处为185公里，南北长161公里。湾岸被切割成很多小海湾，西有帕里塔湾，北为巴拿马海湾，东为圣米格尔湾。湾内水浅，岛屿散布，有珍珠群岛、塔沃加岛等。富水产，是巴拿马重要出口产品海虾的集中产地。北岸有巴拿马城。
