In the supervision of a high buiding′s artificial digging pile,while working into the bearing stratum,we found that end carrying capacity of the pile bearing stratum is lower than expected,and may seriously a-gainst the security of the high buiding basis.

According to the results obtained in laboratory and field loading tests in wahan, the some engineering behaviors of pile foundation are studied, the pile tip bearing stratum criteria and delay grouting bord pile bearing capacity values are obtained.

This paper discusses the application of the rammed pedestal pile in thin stiff stratum in soft soil based on the engineering practice, and presents the reinforce measure of adopting thin stiff stratum as pile tip bearing stratum.
