| 肇庆市 位于中国广东省中西部，西江畔。面积213万平方千米。1991年人口 553.38万。民族汉、瑶、壮 。1949年设市，1951年撤销，并入高要县，1958年复设市，1959 年再撤，1961年再恢复。处粤西山地东缘，地势北高南低。最高峰鼎湖山海拔1008米，主要河流西江。属南亚热带季风气候，年均降水量1920毫米。年均温21.9℃，1月均温13℃，7月均温28.5℃。是广东西部交通枢纽。三茂铁路途经境内；干线公路通省内主要城市；水路沿西江可达德庆及广西梧州市，下水可达三水市、广州市。工业有机械、食品、化工、纺织、皮革、电子等。农作物有水稻、蔬菜、甘蔗、蒲草等。土特产有花席、芡实、文岌鲤。名胜古迹有肇庆七星岩风景区、鼎湖山风景区、阅江楼、崇禧塔、梅庵。
