以包头矿务局河滩沟煤矿3号煤层放顶煤工作面为对象,应用力学分析方法,分析了俯、仰斜开采对煤壁片帮影响的力学机理,指出了由于工作面推进方向不同而引起顶板支承压力相对于煤壁自由面的位置不同,是造成煤壁片帮的主要原因之一,论述了确定工作面推进方向对防止煤壁片帮的重要性。
