Wong 和 Rong Yang 于1999年提出了拟力法并将其应用于框架结构的动力弹塑性时程分析当中,这种以拟力法为基础的动力弹塑性时程分析方法与传统的以有限元为基础的动力时程分析方法相比,有着运算速度快、动力稳定性好、材料适用面广等特点,2002年他们又将拟力法应用于框架结构的地震能量反应分析当中,为结构的地震能量反应分析寻找到了另外一条出路。
