在声波作用下发生共振而使声音得到加强的物体或空腔。音叉被槌击时发出的声音很轻，若把振动的音叉插在所附的一端开口的木箱上，就能引起共鸣而听到很响的声音。钢琴、提琴的琴身，二胡、京胡的琴筒，在琴弦振动发声时都起了共鸣器的作用。
