性质:由于卤化银照相乳剂的本征光吸收范围只限于可见光区的蓝、紫光部分,因此往乳剂中加入某种光谱染料,使其能吸收某种颜色的光并能把所吸收的光能量传递给卤化银使其感光,并能扩展卤化银乳剂的光谱敏感范围,这种作用称为光学增感,亦称光谱增感或染料增感。根据增感染料的用量和所起的作用,又可分为光学增感和超增感。
