| 《望厦条约》 美国与中国签订的第一个不平等条约。即《中美五口贸易章程》。中英签订结束鸦片战争的《南京条约》后，美国趁火打劫，派专使C.顾盛来华胁迫清钦差大臣耆英于1844年7月3日(道光二十四年五月十八)在澳门附近望厦村签订。共34款，附有《海关税则》。内容除没有割地赔款外，几乎包括了中英《南京条约》中的所有条款，并且有些条款比《南京条约》规定得更加具体。例如，关于领事裁判权，条约规定，美国人在中国与中国人或任何外籍侨民之间发生的一切诉讼，都由美国领事审理。关于片面最惠国待遇，条约规定美国此后对华贸易所纳进出口税不得高于他国。条约准许美国人在五口自行租地建屋，设立医院、教堂等。中美《望厦条约》使美国获得了比英国更多的特权。后来该条约成为中法《黄埔条约》及其他国家与中国所订条约的范本。 |
