The interface characteristic of steel 45 /Cu alloy bimetal was studied and analysized in view of hardness,combination state and element distribution using micro-hardness tester,SEM and EDS techniques.

Study on Interface of High Speed Steel/Structural Steel Bimetal Composite;

Based on the large deformation elastic-plastic finite element method(FEM) theory and finite model,the process of solid phase bonding for Cu/Al bimetal composite by hydrostatic extrusion was analyzed by ANSYS FEM with frictional elements inserted between two contacting metals.

So far as the high speed steel-spheroidal graphite cast iron bimetal composite produced by the centrifugal casting and adopted for rollers is concerned,the quality of bimetal binding zone is a main index to evaluate the overall characteristics of product.

The results show that bimetallic materials keep good friction performance and meanwhile have higher strength and bearing capacity.
