涞滩古镇其实应该叫涞滩古寨，距今已200多年，走过深排如何走进一幅泛黄的老照片，去寻找一种飘在空气中还有点潮湿的故事。听当地人介绍，从咸丰年间建成后，为了防范太平军入川和李、蓝起义，同治年间涞滩进行了一次浩大的加固维修，建成了环绕着整个古寨的石头砌成的防御设施，直至今天这道石头城墙依然可见其坚固，足以鉴证当年那一段历史。涞滩寨占地0．25平方公里，四座城门呈十字对称，寨墙全部是半米多长的条石砌成，十分坚固。而塞内还保存着200米的青石板街道，400余间清代民居。眼光穿过时光的隧道，回到清咸丰年间，由于傍着渠江，仗着舟揖之利，床滩还是个著名的水码头，有水便能引来商，当时的涞滩寨商贾云集，街市兴旺，十分繁华，依山而筑的二佛寺也香火不断，是盛极一时的风水宝地。
