美人谷位于丹巴县城约26公里的巴底乡，再往一条山谷上行10多公里的邛山村中，邛山村分一村、二村、三村...，由无数漂亮的藏寨相连而成，整个山谷非常漂亮，但路途非常艰辛，几乎不能行车，完全靠步行，要行走约2小时才能到达。村中有一小学，一村约有100户人家，上千人口。

美人谷难寻美人有以下几个原因：
1、大部份美人长大后都被外地来的宾馆、餐厅、歌舞团等邀请出山了。
2、由于当地的习俗，姑娘结婚都比较早，一般17、18岁就要谈婚论嫁了，结婚之后美人由于劳作等关系，往往红颜早逝。
不过也不用灰心，如果您的运气好，比如在春节、选美节等重大 节日期间，美人都会回家过节，这时您就可以大饱眼福了。
