Industrial alumina and the dead-burned magnesia powder were used as the raw materials in the synthesis of light-weight magnesite-alumina spinel refractories and the effect of light-burned magnesia powder addition on the sinterability of magnesite-alumina spinel refrectories was studied by way of one step sintering.
