性质：又名碱性藏花红，沙红，藏红O(或Y，或A)。本品为Ⅰ和Ⅱ的混合物，红棕色粉末。易溶于水成红色；溶于醇成红色带黄红色荧光。溶于盐酸为蓝红色，最多时为紫色，大量时为蓝色；溶于硫酸时为绿色，稀释时初变蓝，然后变紫，最后变红色。对氢氧化钠生成棕红色沉淀。制法：氧化等摩尔的2，5-二氨基甲苯及邻甲苯胺，将产物与苯缩合，并通过分段沉淀提纯染料，然后转化成氯化物。用作氧化还原指示剂，染色。
